Heart healthy foods
Heart healthy foods can be found in every food group. While all heart healthy foods are low in sodium, each food group provides other health-promoting nutrients. Fruits and vegetables are high in potassium and antioxidants, dairy is high in potassium and calcium, grains and legumes are high in fiber, and nuts and fish are high in unsaturated fats, particularly omega 3 fatty acids. All of these features are excellent for overall heart health!
